Welcome to Sink Farm Equipment
The business was started in 1965 as Sink's Garage and began operations as a Volkswagen repair shop. Claude K. Sink, Sr. was the founder and the only mechanic in 1965. In 1966, Claude hired his future son-in-law, Junie Smith, part time.
Our business continued to grow and on February 24, 1972, Claude Sr. signed a contract with Long Mfg. of Tarboro, NC to sell the Long Tractor & Equipment product line.
In January 1979, we added the Vicon line of hay tools and fertilizer equipment. This additional product line continued the growth trend of our business.
In June 1981, Claude K Sink, Jr. (CJ) graduated from high school and came to work full-time. Reta Smith (CJ's sister & Junie's wife) came to work in the office in the spring of 1982. Our growth continued as we added several short lines of products each year.
On March 20, 1989, we signed a contract with Kubota Tractor Corporation. At this same time we changed our name from Sink's Garage to Sink Farm Equipment and Garage, Inc. This was a positive move for our company as growth moved at a much faster pace in the following years. Part of this growth came from the diverse line of products that Kubota Tractor Corporation offers. The lawn, garden & landscape portion of our business saw tremendous growth after adding Kubota to our product line-up.
In August 2001, we signed a contract with Kawasaki Motors Corporation of America to sell the MULE Utility Vehicle. Kawasaki has proven to be a valuable asset to our company and to our customers.
In the past fifteen years, our company has experienced many more exciting changes. In 2003, Sink Farm Equipment, Inc. began to grow at a rapid rate, and since that time, we have added ten full-time positions and six part-time positions.
After 42 years at the same location, we finally relocated the business to our long-anticipated, new facility in April 2007. This state-of-the-art, 24,000 square-foot facility allows us to provide our customers with the superior sales and service experience that we are known for in an open, friendly environment.
Our new facility has also given us the opportunity to add Echo & Shindaiwa outdoor power equipment, small utility trailers, and Kubota construction equipment, including Kubota Excavators, Wheel Loaders, and Compact Track Loaders to our line-up. Our Hay equipment line-up has also grown to include Vermeer as well as he all new Kubota Hay Tools. We believe these lines will continue our tradition of providing our customers with high quality, innovative products for both work and home.
